 Materials

Metal Parts
We made everything we could out of metal. Including a 304 stainless steel handle, a stirring rod made of a high-hardness aluminum alloy and an L-shaped cutter head made of stainless steel.

Teflon Coated Inside and Out
Teflon coating prevents food from sticking to the sides of the composter, and allows for easy cleaning (just wipe!).

ABS + Polycarbonate Shell
The Polycarbonate Shell helps our composter remain light weight, and easy to lift. Plus, these materials are resistant to denting and scratching.

Activated Carbon Filter
We placed this filter at the bottom of the composting chamber to suck up the odors generated during composting.

Faster
Turns your waste into nutrient-rich compost in just 90 minutes (for a partial load) and 3-5 hours for a full load. That’s because our composter sterilizes by heating the material up (in addition to grinding and filtering out the smell). The inside temperature of the chamber reaches over 125 degrees celsius, speeding up the composting process to the fastest in the industry.

Better
Leads to a 90% reduction in waste weight and a 75% reduction in volume.

Quieter
This machine is near silent, only 41dB to be exact. That is about the same as the average home noise.

Cleaner
Inside and out, the Essential Composter has a double-layer food-grade ceramic coating (same stuff as your favorite frying pan). In addition, the handle and button panel have been treated with a fingerprint resistant polish. That makes it extremely easy to wipe clean.

Easier
Our composter requires no installation. Just plug and go. Plus, the entire machine only has one button.

Prettier
The exterior of our composter is one large space-gray cuboid. It has rounded corners and subtle, futuristic accents. It goes with everything else in The Essential Home. 

More Convenient
We designed The Essential Composter to have a detachable bucket so that when the organic waste has turned into fertilizer, the bucket lifts out of the bin and can be easily carried over to the garden.

More Sustainable — One composting cycle takes up under 1500 watts of energy, much less than other composters on the market.
